Support St. James House
St. James House has generous friends and family who have answered the call to stewardship of their time, talents and financial resources. We thank them for giving freely of God’s great provisions.
One of our generous partners in ministry is The Guild Shop. A ministry of the Episcopal Church Women of St. John the Divine, “The Guild Shop” opened in 1962 with a mission to provide funds for financial assistance at St. James House. The hard work of their many volunteers has resulted in grants to St. James House of more than $5 million dollars. We salute this enduring partnership.
Financial Assistance Fund:
When most nursing care facilities choose to force residents out when they cannot pay their way, at St. James House, we choose to continue serving those individuals with a Christ like attitude. We cannot do that without your support.
Capital Improvement Fund:
Special needs include:
- Nursing; Funds are used to replace and update equipment.
- Landscaping & Grounds; Funds for maintenance & beautification.
- Technical Infrastructure Upgrades
Staff Education Fund:
We are committed to providing continued training for all of our staff to preserve our legacy of quality care. As we choose to set the bar even higher, support for staff development is even more vital to our success.

Many companies sponsor matching gift programs that enable their employees’ gifts to accomplish even more. Please ask your employer about matching gift opportunities.
Gifts of Stock and Other Assets
Stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and other appreciated assets may also be gifted. By giving securities or other real assets instead of cash, you may avoid paying capital gains and claim a tax deduction for the full fair market value of the asset.
A planned gift is a contribution established during a donor’s lifetime that may not be received until after the donor’s death. Planned gifts may be made through a will, charitable gift annuity, charitable remainder trust, life insurance policy or retirement plan.
